UC hosts global engineering leaders for IEEE symposium

UC hosted the 2025 IEEE Region 10 Symposium (TENSYMP) this week, bringing global engineers and researchers to Christchurch.

The 麻豆传媒高清 (UC) welcomed Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) delegates from across Asia and the Pacific to 艑tautahi Christchurch for TENSYMP, a gathering focused on emerging technologies and their real-world applications.

UC senior leaders played a key role in the event, with Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research and Innovation Professor Lucy Johnston opening the welcome event by emphasising the importance of partnerships between universities, industry, and communities. 听

UC Faculty of Engineering Executive Dean Professor Saurabh Sinha delivered the keynote address, reflecting on his role as a Board Member of the IEEE Foundation and the value of international collaboration.

With a focus on advancing technology for the benefit of humanity, the symposium brought together early-career researchers, academic experts, and industry leaders. Sessions explored innovations in Artificial Intelligence, robotics, sustainable energy, and smart systems 鈥 providing a unique opportunity to show how Kiwi-led advancements are shaping the global future of engineering and technology.
