  • Taniwha must collect 鈥榩ou鈥 (by touching the ball on the pou) before they pass the ball into Te Roto to shoot. Ki oma accumulate points in the same manner before scoring a try.听
  • All players must wear rippa belts and rippa tags provided. T-shirts must be tucked in. 2 rips then hand over.听
  • The aim of ki鈥恛ma is to protect the 鈥榯upu鈥, Score points by touching the pou with the 鈥渒i鈥 (ball) and THEN running into 鈥榩awero鈥 zone without getting ripped in the 鈥榯e roto鈥 zone. Ki-oma aren鈥檛 able to enter 鈥榃airua鈥櫶
  • The aim of the 鈥榯aniwha鈥 team is to get the ball from the 鈥榢i鈥恛ma鈥 and pass it to their taniwha team mates in the 鈥榯e roto鈥 zone so they can try and hit the 鈥榯upu鈥 to score a point.听
  • If kaitiaki hit the tupu with any part of their body a point is awarded to Taniwha.
  • If the ki鈥恛ma score a try then the restart happens from the 鈥榤arama鈥, if the taniwha hit the tupu and score a point the ball is still alive and play carries on.听
